Feed 01 · California contractors · weekly
1,840 contractors lost their bond last month. Who covers them next?
Every one of them is suspended by the state until the bond is replaced. Another 1,519 lost workers comp in the same 30 days. Contractor Signals reads California's public license records every business day and sends you the events that matter, with the carrier they just lost in the same row.
Public state records only. No scraped emails. Nothing charged until your first feed ships.

Why these events sell policies
Suspensions = open need
A contractor with a suspended bond or WC policy cannot legally take work until it is replaced. They are not shopping. They are stopped. You are calling with the fix, and the feed tells you which carrier just lost them.
Carrier switches = live shoppers
When a contractor moves their bond or WC to a new carrier, you see it. Renewal and expiration dates in every row let you build a book of timed follow-ups instead of cold lists.
Exempt to insured = first hire
67% of new licensees start WC-exempt. The week one of them files a WC policy, they hired their first employee, and their insurance needs just changed shape. That transition is its own event type.
New licenses = new accounts
For suppliers of tools, materials, software, and fleet: every newly active contractor in your territory, with trade classification and location, weeks before they show up in anyone's marketing database.
How it works
We pull the state's records daily
The California license master file updates every business day. We snapshot it every day and keep the full history, so nothing is ever missed between pulls.
A diff engine finds what changed
Every suspension, reinstatement, carrier switch, coverage change, and new or removed license, detected by comparing today's records against yesterday's. Ten event types, each row showing the previous value next to the new one.
You get a weekly CSV for your counties
Filtered to the territory you choose, sorted by urgency, delivered by email. Opens in Excel or Google Sheets. No login, no dashboard to babysit, no per-seat games.

Fair questions
Where does the data come from?
Directly from the Contractors State License Board's public license database, the same records anyone can look up one at a time on the state's website. We pull the full file every day, keep the history, and detect what changed. No scraping of private sources, ever.
How fresh is it?
The state updates the file every business day and we snapshot it daily. Your digest arrives weekly, and suspension events in it are at most a few business days old. We will not claim faster than the source actually moves.
Is this compliant to use for outreach?
The feed contains business records exactly as the state publishes them: business name, address, phone, license and coverage details. We add no scraped emails and no appended personal contact data. How you contact a business must follow the usual rules, and a licensed business's public record is the cleanest starting point there is.
Why is the founding price $49?
Because the product is young and the first subscribers shape it. The rate is locked for the life of your subscription. It will not be the price later.
What if it is not useful?
Cancel anytime, no contract, and the first invoice only goes out after your first real feed is delivered. If the sample does not convince you, that costs you nothing.
